Gorgonmilk on Gothise

So I was checking traffic sources today, as I am wont to do obsessively occasionally. Imagine my surprise when I saw that a gothic scene social network called Gothise had dethroned Jeff's Gameblog as my #1 traffic source. While I'm about as fashionable as any nerdy, black-rimmed-glasses-wearing manchild you might pass on the street, I am down with the gothicks in the musical sense. Gorgonmilk's favorite bands/artists include COIL, Skinny Puppy, Zoviet France, Depeche Mode, Pink Industry -- all of which might fall under or slightly askew of goth's black umbrella.

Anyway, Ggmlk appreciates the traffic and is now befriendable on Gothise.

Three dudes I want to brap with.

  1. I'm with you as far as seeing a lot of traffic from Gothise, and I'm right there too as far as the 80's and 90's goth-industrial music tastes. Wonder if lots of D&D bloggers have been targeted. Post back if you think it's worth it.

  2. Me too, which I initially felt made no flippin' sense. I am not a D&D guy. My blog covers Star Trek, Superheroes, The Muppets and Smurfs for crying out loud!

    Bizarre.

But thanks for the interest gothise members. Especially you really cute, emo hottie ones.

  3. I was just about to mention this about my blog too. They're my number one source of traffic and I am pretty sure there is nothing Goth at all about my blog or me.

  4. OK, now that I think about it, maybe Visigoth could be a good descriptor for me.

  5. Something is afoot. And if that something means Ggmlk is going to be interstalked by hot emo girls... Well, so be it. We all have crosses to bear.

  6. I've been seeing this too. I just thought they were Swedish and confused.

Maybe the trigger is being weird and creepy?

  7. Yeah, I've been getting traffic from Gothise as well. Not sure why, unless the female black corset shaped as Darth Vader's costume picture is what is driving them to my blog. I swear, the number one traffic source is people looking for Gemma Atkinson pics, which I posted a few weeks ago.

  8. I feel left out! I don't think I get any of the Goth crowd. I guess I'm just not as gloomy as you guys. ;)

  9. Ok so I'm not the only one who obsesses about blog traffic.
I haven't gotten a single hit off of this Gothise. Guess I'm not wearing enough black.
I talk about anything not space related & my numbers go down.

  10. Hmm, also my #1 traffic source right now, which is weird, because like Barking Alien, my blog is rather not goth. Unless it has something to do with 40K? Very strange.

  11. I also have a lot of hits from gothise. They don't show up on statcounter. There is nothing Goth on my blog, I think it's just spam ;~)

  12. Hey, I'm not alone with this. I actually am a Goth, but I don't write much about that. I say/write Oh Goth or For Goth's sake, though, which is probably why I show up on their radar. So I'm thinking spam, too.

  13. I have been getting a lot of traffic from gothise too, but wasn't really sure what it was. Guess I'll have to relent myself to hot emo girl stalking now.

  14. Stumbled over your blog while trying to figure out what Gothise is up to. Seeing as I am a Mormon mom who mostly writes about life as a stay-at-home mom, I'm pretty sure there's not much "we" are doing to get the traffic from Gothise. Still, if keeping toddlers busy is a hot topic in the goth community, they are welcome ;)

  15. HA! "Hot topic" -- I like the wordplay here.

Dammit. I thought I was special, Gothise. I'm just another notch on your digital bedpost apparently.

  16. I'm an illustrator :/ I think i use the word 'emo' once on my blog and then the traffic started coming. I hear its a spam/hack of some kind? Quite worrying.

  18. they are spammers. and more of them are targetting bloggers too. There intent is to generate traffic back to their site which earns them money. google information on the ranking of gothise and you will see for yourself.
