Magic Cults found in Hexmoor

(Q: What is Hexmoor?)

Three wizard-cults and one fetishistic tradition vie for dominance over Hexmoor's magical environment in the dream-plane version of Ialont (see HEX #0918 on the campaign map) called the City of Not, a place where battle has waxed and waned over the course of eons.

Brotherhood of Green Wizards -- A cult owing its cryptic knowledge to a demon prince called Thwattu. They are immediately recognizable by their heavy, lustrous umbre-green robes, said to be sewn from the guts of many thousands of lesser demons who once roamed Thwattu's Grove* -- a place sacred to all green brothers. The brotherhood was once very large -- numbering perhaps eight-hundred members or more in the 6th Eon -- but as time has passed its membership has dwindled to no more than nine. Their chieftain is the Mouth of Thwattu**, who occupies the body of Mandal the Brother-Slayer***.

The Eiglophian Lodge -- A cooperative cult of magic-users and magical beings that ferry souls to the Pit of Hate where they serve the arch-demon Ymreoch of the Empty Face, building his great palace the Tower of Nothing. Unlike the Green Wizards, they are secretive and prefer to maintain a constant veil of invisibility. The Lodge is an actual place, as well, high in the Kurnwall mountains, where they hoard their great wealth. The Lodge is mastered by Khallos (formerly "the Destroyer") a monk-ish ascetic who spends most of his time in mental projection, roaming the wilderness around the City of Not.

Non-Persons of the Toad Cult -- Dark wizards who have pledged their minds to Yug-Tsoth the Toad-God who dwells on the hypnotic plane called Eegrue. A mental conglomeration of powerful dark magic-users, chiefed by the beautiful sorceress Utumne. They have many servants among humans, toad-men and the weresharks who inhabit the Nameless Lake****.

Witches of the White Goddess -- Ancient enemies of the Green Wizards, amazon-like beauties who scorn the touch of men, who the witches congress with for the sole purpose of creating daughters*****. The White Goddess has not spoken for thousands of years and the cult has undergone a succession of hateful and domineering matriarchs whose names have become legend.
