This is purely for getting a grasp on the layout style. The text is still unedited.
Looks really nice!A few observations/questions:1. I guess the AC 12 ascending in the LL stats block is an error?2. Not every god is required to have a reaction table? I think that was one of James' stipulations, but I found it a bit unnecessary.3. Presumably the LL / ACK save as info can differ? (In this example it's the same.)
Thanks 1. Yeah, the stat block need to be edited.2. I'm not requiring a reaction table, but I would like to see them.3. It differs based on the class. For instance in ACKS the Magic-User is a Mage. Now that I look at it, having the save info there may be unnecessary. I can cover minor variations like that in my introduction.
Looks good to me. A simple stat block and plenty of flavour text to get the proper idea of the Petty God.
I'm not sure how the print product will be produced (or is this PDF only?) but be sure to leave enough room in the gutter to account for binding and enough room on the outside margin to allow for creep/trimming.
The dimensions of the pic above are a little deceiving looking. I stuck with .5" on each side and .3" on top and bottom. The Vancian Supplement was same on the sides but .5" on top and bottom. I felt like there was a lot of unused space vertically so I increased the working space with PG.
If the POD option is going to be saddle stitched I'm sure it will be fine. However, if it is going to be perfect bound, I'd expect the margins on the bound edge to be a little wider. Think the layout looks great though.
What do you suggest for the margins, Peter? I could always do different versions for the POD (which will likely be 8.5 x 11) and for folks who are looking for an LBB-sized booklet they can print themselves.
For my perfect bound Compilation of Oubliette I use a 20mm margin on the binding side and 10mm or 12mm on the outside. Considering how many gods there are, and allowing one god per page, it might be a too thick to make a decent booklet version.
Yes the overall size of PG (likely 200 pages or so) will be way too big to do as one volume in DIY booklet form, so I'm going to divide it into three booklets: Lords of Law, Lords of Neutrality, Lords of Chaos.
Things you never knew you needed: they have a miniature for a slightly (but only slightly) different avatar of the (NSFW) Divine Worm.Think that sculptor needs to work with Raggi? If you still have SAN points after that, you can google the company that put it out. I would link it, but I will not utter that URL here.
OMG that's fantastic, Red. Adding it to my birthday wishlist!
Ahh the Wet Nurse, always wished I'd gotten one before it sold out. It's by a company called Kingdom Death, who recently raised over $2 million with their Kickstarter. Go have a look at the Kickstarter page and their website, so many wonderful awful things.
