Petty Gods: Feeler Suggestions Thread

Many of you have suggested names of cult writers, actors, artists and creators that I should contact regarding PETTY GODS. For the sake of keeping all this information together, please comment with your suggestions here.

Also, if you can personally bring in a high-profile contributor to the PETTY GODS project, I'll send you a Gorgonmilk-endorsed and printed VANCIAN SUPPLEMENT booklet as my way of saying thanks.

  3. I think I'm going to leave a comment on Jeff Vandermeer's blog. He seems busy as fuck but why not, right?

    1. I don't have his personal email or anything, so I left a comment on one of his posts on his website last night. No response yet.

  4. If any of you don't know who Jeff Vandermeer is, go read this and then buy all his books.

  5. I've emailed Cory Doctorow (who's written with Charlie Stross), Mark Frauenfelder, Ethan Gilsdorf, and Chuck Wendig.

I'm thinking we should also hit up John Scalzi (he's mostly SciFi, but he's also current president of the SFWA). In fact, we should hit EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON THIS LIST HERE:

    1. Just heard from Doctorow--no can do due to other (paying) deadlines. But maybe we can get some exposure via BoingBoing out of it.

    2. Just emailed Scalzi. Here's to luck.

  6. I just tweeted Wil Wheaton with an offer to buy him beer when he's in KC for Planet Comicon if he contributes to the project.

    1. Wil should be feeling the love then. I sent him an e-mail a couple days ago.

  7. Glen Cook. Black Company is my favorite Dark Fantasy series, and the evils in his worlds are fucked up... I have no connection to him, unfortunately.

    1. I've got Glen Cook's street address, but can't find any phone# or email address. Cook has no social media presence that I can find.

He lives in St. Louis. I might have to bribe my brother to swing by his house and knock on the door.

  8. I just asked Dan Harmon (NBC's Community, Monster House, etc.) to contribute. He started out in a comedy troupe with my uncle. You might have heard of them: The Dead Alewives. Yeah, the "I attack the darkness!" guys.

    1. I had no idea Harmon was part of The Dead Alewives. That would be sweet to have him involved with PG!

  10. Just heard back from China Mieville. He likes what we're doing but is way too busy at the moment to be involved.

  11. John Carpenter needs to be contacted.
    This needs to be attempted!
